Tooling Technician

Summary:  Responsible for the set-up and operation of thermoforming equipment to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Responsible for the proper inspection and handling of material, tooling and equipment.

Duties and Tasks include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Promotion to Level 2 Set-Up Technician granted by President after adequate performance as Level 1 Set-Up Technician.

1. Follows all safety procedures and regulations. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each activity.

1. Notifies management of any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries immediately.

1. Completes all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

1. Inspects, installs and removes mold bases and pressure boxes.

1. Set platen shut heights on Armac with adj. heads. Set up proper daylight height on Sencorp with proper shim plates.

1. Set flow valves for platen speeds. Set platen stops.

1. Change tooling from male to female or vice versa.

1. Inspect, install and remove stacker assembly.

1. Set machine rail widths.

1. Load / store job information and view comments for job set-up on computer.

1. Inspect, install and remove proper runways.

1. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance checks per company standards.

1. Perform regularly scheduled cleaning activities per company standards.

1. Properly clean and lubricate equipment and supporting equipment per company standards.

1. Record all corrective and preventive maintenance activities on appropriate logs and checklists per company procedures using accurate and legible handwriting.

1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

1. Availability to work approved overtime, at times with minimal notice.
